Lesson Policies

When you sign up and schedule a lesson time with a teacher, the teacher reserves that time for you only. To assure that teachers can count on a stable income we require the following:

  • Lessons are paid for the whole month in advance, during the first week of that month, before the first lesson.
  • New students who sign up after the first week of the month will pay in advance for as many lessons as they there are scheduled in the month.
  • If the above payment schedule is a problem, please talk it over with your teacher in private, and we will work it out.
  • Students who require other scheduling (ie: every other week, twice a month, etc) can be accommodated. The teacher will assess the need for new arrangements. All other policies still apply.
  • A missed lesson may be made up when 24-hour notice has been given. The make-up lesson has to be scheduled within the current month, and is subject to the teacher’s availability. Once the month is over, any canceled lessons that have not been made up will be considered forfeited.
  • Make-up lessons can only be scheduled during the teacher's regular working days and hours. Teachers cannot schedule make-up lessons during days or hours that are not on their calendars.
  • No shows or same-day cancellations will forfeit the lesson.
  • No refunds will be given.
  • Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable. Teachers will allow ten minutes to pass from the scheduled start of an individual lesson, then it will be considered a forfeited lesson.
  • If a teacher is late, or must miss a paid lesson, the teacher will offer the student a make-up lesson.
