Dan Crary Guitar Workshop
February 26th, 1:00 p.m.
Do you know Dan Crary? If you don't, you should -- he's a flatpicking guitarist who has recorded with legends like Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, and Beppe Gambetta. His solo career spans several decades, and in that time he's certainly picked up a thing or two about how to play the guitar. He's incredible! (If you don't believe us, just check out this video of Dan in action.)
We're pleased to announce that Dan will be holding a workshop here at Herb David Guitar Studio on Sunday, Feb 26th, at 1:00 p.m. This is your chance to learn from one of the best!
The workshop costs $40 and that includes everything you'll need (except your guitar, of course). To sign up for the workshop, give us a call toll-free at 877-665-8001 or sign up using the form below. Space is very limited... we can only handle up to four students for this. So if you're interested, you'll want to hurry while there's still a chance.
If you can't make it to the workshop, you can still catch Dan at The Ark on Friday, February 24 for BreakFEST 2012 -- a benefit for Ann Arbor's Breakfast at St. Andrew's, an all-volunteer charity that has served a free meal to anyone in need every day for 30 years. You can find out more about that show at http://theark.org/3002.html, and if you need tickets you can purchase them in person from us.
Instrument Building/Repair Workshops
Many people have expressed interest in learning how to build their own guitars, ukuleles, and other instruments. Almost as many people have told us that they'd just like to know more about taking care of their instruments, performing general maintenance, and making adjustments to help it perform at its best.
If you are one of those people, we've got just the thing for you. We're planning to start up a workshop led by some of the best professional instrument makers and repair technicians around. Workshop topics will cover everything from:
- How to decide where to start
- Common symptoms of common problems
- What you need to know to do the job
- Using the right tools for the best results
- Everything you've ever wanted to know about instrument woodworking (woods, glues, clamps, etc.)
- Finishing techniques
- ... and more. You bring the topic and we will address it!
We'll share all sorts of tips, tricks, and reading recommendations. And if you need any tools or supplies, we can help you get them.
Sound exciting? If so, let us know! We'd like to hold these workshops on a day and time that works best for anyone who wants to come. So if you're interested in coming to one, fill out our quick signup form below to let us know what times you might be available. We'll do our best to put something together that works for the most people.
