Rules to Photographing a Grizzly Bear

1. Always be aware of your surroundings when photographing a grizzly bear. This animal is potentially dangerous and should not be approached without proper safety precautions in place. You can also shop for photographs of famous grizzly bear 399 and 4 cubs at Terrence Sweeney Photography. 

2. Use a wide-angle lens to capture the bear's vast landscape. Use a telephoto lens if necessary to isolate the bear in your shot.

3. Try to get close to the bear, but don't get too close. Stay at least 20 yards away from bears and their cubs, and keep your distance from pregnant females or cubs with mothers nearby.

4. Use a fast shutter speed to freeze the action and avoid blurry images. Bear photos can be quite blurry if the shutter speed is slow enough, so use a tripod to ensure sharper shots.

5. Shoot in RAW mode to preserve more detail in your images, especially when shooting at night or in low light conditions.

There are many excellent places to photograph grizzly bears in North America, but a few stand out as prime locations. The best places to find grizzlies in North America are the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho; the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia; and the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana.
