There are two types of drugs used to treat stomach ulcers. But the drugs only treat the symptoms of heartburn and they are not cure in themselves. Here is a list of types of medication for heartburn available:

Proton Pump Inhibitor 

These types of treatment for heartburn are prescribed by a doctor. They reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach and can provide relief from heartburn.
