Color

For the naked eye, most diamonds appear colorless however, they can have subtle shades of hue. Professionals employ those alphabets D (colorless) from Z (light yellow) to indicate the hue.

The majority of natural diamonds are imperfect. The color is caused due to chemical impurities or structural imperfections in the crystal pattern. This causes a yellowish or brownish color. 

Clarity

The natural imperfections of diamonds are known as inclusions. They are crystals or minerals that are trapped in the stone. They determine the clarity of the diamond.

So, when purchasing diamonds or any other gem, be sure to verify the policy on returns. There are some sellers who offer jewels for sale at an affordable price but then discover that they are not able to be returned.
